ORLANDO, Fla. — Access to COVID-19 testing has recently often meant waiting in long lines for hours. But additional ways to get tested are popping up across town, in the form of private facilities.

The facilities, such as Delta Internal Medicine Center, are offering tests by appointment, with many still offering appointment slots this week.

“We do laser hair removal, we do facials, we do iv infusion to boost the immune system. We also do functional medicine. We try to prevent disease before it happens,” owner Paola Acosta said.

When Acosta saw the long lines at COVID-19 testing sites, she decided to use her own resources to offer testing, something she was already doing for established patients.

“Talking to our lab, Nona Scientific, they were like, ‘you know, we can provide testing, we can help,’ so this is how we just decided to try to see how we can help the community,” Acosta said.

They are offering a PCR test with results within 24 to 48 hours. The test costs $25 with insurance and $75 without.
