ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 15-year-old boy was behind bars on Tuesday, charged in the Monday morning shooting death of another 15-year-old in Orange County.
The suspect, Ricardo Perez, was arrested overnight, and on Tuesday, he faced a judge on charges of second-degree murder.

Perez is being held at the Orange County Juvenile Detention Center.
According to deputies, Perez shot Jesus Ramirez on 2nd Street near Silver Star Road just before 5 a.m. Monday.

First responders attempted to save the victim’s life but pronounced him dead outside his home.
“I come out and I see all of this; it’s unbelievable, crazy,” said neighbor Eddie Vega.

A growing memorial has been placed where the teen was killed.
The victim’s father told Channel 9 that he feels some relief in the swift arrest.

Deputies said that this was a targeted attack and that there is no danger to the public, but they haven’t said what sparked the shooting in the first place.
