Suspect in August shooting death of 14-year-old in Orange County arrested

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Brevard County deputies have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a 14 year-old in Orange County in August.

Malachi Lamarr Thomas, 19, was arrested Tuesday on an outstanding warrant. A grand jury previously indicted him on murder charges.

He is facing charges related to the death of Daquarvious Fudge, 14, in a drive-by shooting.

Orange County deputies said Fudge was shot and killed near the intersection of Cypress Street and Willie Mays Parkway in August.

Two others have also been charged in the case. Investigators believe the shooting was a result of an ongoing gang feud.
