MIRAMAR, Fla. — Spirit Airlines said Thursday that it will launch nonstop service between Orlando International Airport and Mercedita International Airport, in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
Daily flights to Orlando will begin Feb. 16, 2022.

“Our new nonstop flights to Orlando provide connectivity to many high-value travel options for flying in or out of Ponce, along with serving the vibrant and growing Puerto Rican community in Central Florida,” said John Kirby, a vice president with the company.
The airliner has been flying to San Juan, Puerto Rico, since 2001 and Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, since 2007.

Spirit said it has about 70 flights daily going in and out of Orlando’s airport.
The company said it will also have one-stop options between Ponce and the following cities: Atlanta, Baltimore, Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, Dallas-Fort Worth, Hartford-Bradley, Houston, Minneapolis, Nashville, New Orleans, Pensacola, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
