ORLANDO, Fla. — Smelling smoke in Central Florida? It’s not just you.
Officials say windy conditions are sending smoke from several controlled burns across Central Florida.
Orange County Fire Rescue said three large controlled burns are happening in the county Tuesday. That includes two burns in the east near State Road 528 and 520, as well as near 528 and Dallas Boulevard.
#ControlledBurns - 911 operators are receiving multiple calls with reports of smoke in the area. There are 3 large controlled burns taking place in @OrangeCoFL today. Windy conditions are moving the smoke across the county. The 2 burns on the East side are 528/520 & 528/Dallas.

Meteorologist George Waldenberger said smoke from a prescribed burn at the Lake Apopka North Shore is also contributing to the haze.

The Florida Forest Service tweeted, asking motorists to use caution due to smoke from the Lake Apopka fire.
The FFS is asking motorist to use caution due to smoke possibly impacting the hwy from a 1260 acre controlled burn by St John Water Management District north of Lake Apopka. #FLFire

Waldenberger said wind will hopefully mix out the smoke to bring clearer skies our way.
