ORLANDO, Fla. — Pig Floyd’s Urban Barbakoa and Stasio’s Italian Deli & Market are collaborating on a new pizza restaurant in the trendy Mills 50 District.

The pizza joint, dubbed Pigzza, will open in a 1961 building at North Mills Avenue and Oregon Street, next to Will’s Pub.

The building is owned by Track Shack and is currently used for storage.

Pig Floyd’s’ Thomas Ward said he pitched the concept to his best friend Al Palo, who co-owns Stassio’s in the nearby Milk District.

Palo has more than 20 years of pizza-making experience.

Pigzza will open just three blocks south of Ward’s popular barbecue joint.

The restaurant will feature pies with smoked meats and butter chicken and will even offer a Cuban sandwich-inspired pizza. There will also be brisket lasagna and wings.

Ward told Channel 9 that he and Palo want to “bring a different flare” to Orlando’s bustling pizza scene.

“We’re trying to push the limits on what people are used to in the pizza world,” he said.

Like Pig Floyd’s, the restaurant will serve beer and wine, but Ward said he hopes this location will also have a full liquor bar.

Framework Craft Coffee currently has a trailer on the site, and Ward said he plans to keep the popup open throughout construction, which is set to begin early next month.

He said the restaurant could open as soon as September.

The hours of operation are expected to be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and it will close at midnight on Fridays. Click here to see renderings of the restaurant.
