ORLANDO, Fla. — Red Kettle season is here.

ICON Park joined the Salvation Army for its annual kickoff event on Saturday, as the holiday season begins.

Captain Ken Chapman, the area commander for the Salvation Army, rode The Wheel at ICON Park for 10 hours.

Guests who wanted to take the ride with Chapman donated the cost of the admission ticket to the Red Kettle Campaign.
ICON Park also donated a dollar from every ticket sold for the ride to the Salvation Army.

There also was Christmas music performed by the Salvation Army Band and photo opportunities.
The money that is put in the red kettle goes toward supporting community initiatives.
“It is indeed a powerful movement to be a part of,” Chapman said. “When you give to the Red Kettle, you are literally positioning individuals and families to be able to have food, shelter, and the hope needed to keep pushing forward.”
