The 96-year-old Mediterranean mansion at 1000 Genius Drive is historic for many reasons, and it just added another reason on Sept. 17.

The 13,855-square-foot estate between Lake Virginia and Lake Mizell fetched the second-highest price tag of any single-family home in the 32789 ZIP code, according to Orange County Property Appraiser records.

The $10.65 million purchase price was just short of the most expensive home deal ever done in the ritzy section of Central Florida, a $10.68 million sale in 2017.
The property stands out due to its high-end interior design, abundant outdoor amenities and lakefront lifestyle, Premier Sotheby’s International Realty agents Mick Night and John Pinel said in a statement.
The team represented both the buyer and the seller.
