‘Fiercely loyal’: Remembering Angela Jacobs, our dear friend & colleague

ORLANDO, Fla. — Channel 9 reporter Angela Jacobs died Tuesday evening after fighting a courageous battle against metastatic breast cancer.

Jacobs was private about her recent cancer battle, but she publicly shared about her first battle in 2020. Watch that story below:

Over five months, she endured 56 treatments and five weeks of radiation. She also underwent four surgeries and lost her hair -- but never her faith.

Jacobs finally beat the disease and went into remission for almost two years. But earlier this year, the cancer had returned. She fought another tough fight, undergoing chemotherapy and experimental treatments.

During her career in broadcast journalism, she covered everything from hurricanes to Super Bowls and even the World Series.

Jacobs joined Channel 9 as a general assignment reporter in 2013.

Before that, she spent almost nine years as an anchor/reporter in Tampa, where her reporting earned her two regional Emmy Awards.

Jacobs loved sports, photography, beach trips and spending quality time with her family and beloved dog Minka.
