Man dies after shooting in Waffle House parking lot in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in a Waffle House parking lot.

The shooting happened early Monday morning at the Waffle House at 5350 South Kirkman Road, police said.

Officers said Christopher Smith, 31, was shot in the chest after an altercation in the parking lot and died later at a local hospital.

Officers said they are investigating the shooting as a homicide.

No suspect information was available.
