Person shot in neighborhood west of downtown Orlando, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. — Police said a person was shot Sunday evening west of downtown Orlando.

Officers said a person was shot at around 7 p.m. on Cassius Street in the Richmond Heights area.

The shooting occurred not far from Carver Middle School and Eccleston Elementary School.

Police said the shooter is a known suspect but would not give a description of the gunman.

Officers said the victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury but did not say what led up to the shooting.

Police said “all parties are accounted for” but did not say if anyone was under arrest.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, officers said.
