The police department uses the event as an opportunity to strengthen its relationship with children in the community.
“It’s a way for our officers to build bridges with the community to show the community, to show the kids that they do not need to fear us and that we also care about them,” Lt. Jean Gabriel said.
Students were picked from different Orange County schools to spend time with police officers as they shopped together for holiday items on their wishlists.
