ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — FEMA-run vaccination sites across Florida are set to start administering first-dose shots of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine starting Tuesday.
The locations in Orlando, Tampa, Miami and Jacksonville were originally planning to offer doses of the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine, but those shots are on pause due to a rare reaction under investigation by the FDA and CDC.

The state is planning to resume first doses at the federally supported vaccination sites, including the one at Valencia College’s West Campus, on Tuesday.
Officials said they plan to administer up to 3,000 first doses of the Pfizer vaccine per day. The sites previously offered 3,000 doses of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine per day.

The FEMA-run sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or until supplies run out.
All Florida residents ages 16 and older are eligible to receive a Pfizer vaccine at the federally-supported vaccination sites.
The state said at this time it has not received additional guidance regarding the use of the Johnson and Johnson vaccines. A spokesperson said the sites may switch back to administering the one-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine, depending on additional guidance.
