ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — After a career of sniffing out bad guys and missing persons, Orange County K9 Deputy Boone’s watch ended last week after a battle with cancer.
Boone the bloodhound served the sheriff’s office for six years before retiring at age 7 last year.

Deputies said Boone was diagnosed with cancer in November 2020, but continued to work tracking down felony suspects and missing persons during his treatment.
“Thank you for your service, K9 Boone,” deputies said in a tweet memorializing his passing.
