Deputies said that when they arrived at the Heritage Hotel along South Orange Blossom Trail on Saturday afternoon, two people had already been shot.
On Monday, the sheriff’s office identified the two men who died as 21-year-old Dylan Jimenez and 28-year-old Bryan Richardson.
Deputies say Richardson and Jimenez are brothers who had gotten into an “altercation” at the hotel with the third man who was shot.

According to the sheriff’s office, Jimenez and the unidentified third man first began shooting at each other, each injuring the other.
Deputies say Richardson ran with his brother to parking lot on the north side of the hotel where he collapsed.
According to a synopsis of events from the sheriff’s office, the first deputies on scene attempted to render medical aid to Jimenez when they noticed Richardson was holding a gun. Richardson was ordered to drop the gun, but he didn’t comply and was shot by one of the deputies.
Both Richardson and Jimenez were taken to the hospital where they died.

The third man who was involved in the initial shooting was also taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. He hasn’t been identified by the sheriff’s office.
The deputy who fired his gun has also not been identified, but the sheriff’s office says he’s been with the department since 2018.
