Orange County businesses contemplate COVID-19 vaccine mandates

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — More vaccine mandates are on the way for employees across Central Florida.

Orange County business leaders have been meeting to discuss how they can work together to slow the spread of COVID-19, and for the first time in more than a year the Economic Recovery Task Force reconvened on Monday.

The biggest thing to come out of that meeting was how businesses can get more people vaccinated. Some will mandate it, while others will give incentives to do it.

But it was clear they all recognized that without a huge change, this wave will impact the economy.

Several organizations said they’re following Disney’s lead by mandating the vaccine.

Mayor Jerry Demings said the only way to get the numbers down and save lives and the economy is for businesses to be on the same team.
