OCPS celebrates Teacher Appreciate Week with “Project Impact: Teachers Change Lives”

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — It’s been a tough year for teachers and students alike, as districts across the country navigated learning during a pandemic.

Last week across the United States, we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week.

Here in Florida, Orange County Public School celebrated its teachers with its annual “Project Impact: Teachers Change Lives.”

This year, nearly 6,000 “Thank You” letters were written by graduating seniors from OCPS’s 20 high schools to teachers across the district.

Every year, many teachers experience tears of joy and pride as they hear touching and heartfelt letters written for them by former students.

In a news release, OCPS’s said it was “grateful for the positive impact our 14,000 teachers play in the lives of our 206,000 students every single day.”

The release went on to say that educators can change a child’s life and play a significant role in shaping students for the future.
