ORLANDO, Fla. — A memorial bench was dedicated to fallen Orlando Police Officer Kevin Valencia on Tuesday.
In 2018, Valencia was shot in the line of duty while trying to save children from a domestic violence situation. He passed away from his injuries in March 2021.
Police Chief Orlando Rolón joined Mayor Buddy Dyer and members of the Orlando Police Department as the Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association (CFHLA) were present to dedicate the bench in honor of Valencia.
Thank you @orlandomayor, commissioners, & members of our community like @CFHLA who continue to support @OrlandoPolice by honoring our officers as heroes of the @citybeautiful. To the Valencia family, we will always honor & remember the courage & sacrifice Kevin made. https://t.co/hII2ve6k03
