ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened in the heart of downtown Orlando early Sunday. morning.
According to police, the shooting occurred near the intersection of Orange Avenue and Central Boulevard.

Orlando police responded to the area after hearing gunshots around 2:30 a.m.

Police said Joseph Torres was walking on Orange Avenue and turned onto Central Boulevard underneath the overhang of the building at 20 North Orange Avenue.
They said a group of people was standing near the building. When Torres tried to walk through the group, police said a suspect blocked the path and began to fight Torres.
The suspect then fatally shot Torres, police said.
