ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was found dead Thursday morning in the driveway of an abandoned house in Orange County.

Deputies found the man’s body in front of a home on 28th Street, just off Rio Lane.
The man was found dead in a residential neighborhood filled with kids.

The body was still in the driveway when Channel 9 crews arrived at the scene.
Neighbors said they remember hearing gunshots around midnight.

Multiple neighbors told Channel 9 there’s a dividing line that some don’t go past because of the violent activity that happens.
“It’s a normal thing. There is always shootings over here. I called 911 a few weeks ago because I heard gun shots right in front of my daughter’s window,” said neighbor Nancy Mitchell.
Mitchell said she has lived in the neighborhood about five years and she’s ready to move back north.

The death investigation is ongoing at the home near a local middle school and neighbors said children were walking by the dead body on the way to school.
