Investigators said they were attempting to use new technology to tie Hall to the murders when he confessed.
Hall’s wife of 12 years, Shannon Williams, said Hall is a good man and that since they have been together he has stayed out of trouble.
She said she knew he had just gotten out of prison when they met, but she said she had no idea he was a suspected murderer.

Police said that between August and October 1987, when Hall was 21 years old, he was accused of terrorizing the homeless community in downtown Orlando.
Police reports say officers were looking for an attacker who was hitting white transients in the back of the head many times when they were asleep.
Hall was always a suspect, but detectives say he confessed only to some of the attacks, not the murders.

In the late 1980s, police tried to use blood evidence to connect him to the murder but the results were inconclusive.
In 2009, evidence was sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for a DNA profile.
Now, with 2022 technology, they are trying to link his DNA conclusively. But detectives were able to arrest him after they said he confessed to the murders.

“We never stop looking for closure for those who have been affected by homicide investigations,” Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolon said.
Orlando police, including the detective who put Hall behind bars, are scheduled to host a news conference on the case on Wednesday.
Hall remains in custody at the Orange County Jail.
