Orange County health officials to observe Universal’s safety procedures upon reopening
Orange County health officials say they will do some “secret shopping” at Universal Studios when it reopens to the public on June 5.
County health officer Dr. Raul Pino said officials will show up unannounced, in plain clothes, to poke around when least expected.
"We would like to visit them when people are actively engaged in the activities, so we can learn a little better how the behavior is going to be in these circumstances and what people respond best to," Pino said.

After an initial slight uptick in cases when some restaurants and businesses reopened, the number of people with COVID-19 in Orange County has remained steady.
Orange County staff will be working directly with the health department to analyze the data and watch for any spikes, especially once the parks reopen.
Mayor Jerry Demings said it’s possible there could be further restrictions in place.
Several smaller theme parks including Fun Spot have already reopened. Universal Citywalk previously reopened with new safety restrictions in place.
