ORLANDO, Fla. — The University of Central Florida hosted more than 1,000 local high school students on Friday as part of the Latinos In Action Youth Leadership Conference.

Several Central Florida schools participated in the event.

UCF faculty also held a series of college-readiness workshops.

They focused on several topics, including applying for scholarships and adapting to on-campus life.

Because of the pandemic, this was the first time the conference was held at UCF in two years.
Currently, more than 18,000 Latino students are enrolled at UCF, comprising 28-percent of the university’s student population.
