ORLANDO, Fla. — It’s going to be a busy Friday at airports in Central Florida as people start traveling for the Labor Day weekend.

Crews at Orlando International Airport are preparing for 140,000 people to pass through on Friday.

Airport leaders are telling people to show up early because it’s going to be packed.
Data shows there will be around 20% more travelers than last year at OIA.

According to airport officials, the six-day Labor Day travel period will exceed 2021 traffic by nearly 63,000 passengers, or 19.6%.
Most airports and airlines are also understaffed, and that could mean delays.

Airline pilots are picketing across the country, protesting massive flight delays and cancellations that have made travel this year a nightmare.
A new report from the Department of Transportation shows passenger complaints were up 35% in June compared to the prior month.
