ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Gun violence is on the rise in Orlando and Orange County.
Orlando police said as of May 5, they’ve responded to 177 calls for shots fired, compared to 144 at this time last year.
REAAD: Homicide investigation underway after 2 teens found dead along Sumter County road
There were 57 victims hit by gunfire out of those 177 calls.
In Orange County, deputies said there have been 61 shootings so far this year. In total, there were 161 last year.
