Owens’ friend and fellow Full Sail student Hunter Smith said he disagrees.

“He’s always been just a sweet dork… He’s always been so nice,” Smith said. “Always been willing to lend me the couch whenever I needed it.”

The most serious charge Owens’ facing is assault and use of a dangerous weapon causing bodily harm, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Prosecutors said that charge came after Owens hit an officer over the head with his skateboard.

Federal investigators said body camera footage shows Owens assault a Metropolitan Police Department officer with the board.
