FedEx to hire 150 workers for new automated package center in Orlando

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — FedEx Ground has just opened a new 433,000 square-foot center designed to process 6,000 large packages per hour and is looking to fill 150 new positions to meet growing demand.

The company said the facility, located at 2500 Consulate Drive, enables FedEx Ground to more efficiently handle the increase in large packages — such as furniture, large screen TVs and exercise equipment — being injected into its network amid the explosive growth of e-commerce.

The Orlando facility currently employs about 170 team members and is looking to hire an additional 150 employees for the holiday season. Open positions include a mix of part and full-time package handlers
