ORLANDO, Fla. — A woman in her late 70s was held at gunpoint and robbed while she was returning to a hotel on International Drive, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies said the woman and her husband were entering the Courtyard Marriott at 8600 Austrian Court in Orlando around 8:45 p.m. Saturday.
The woman’s husband was opening the rear hotel door for her when she screamed, deputies say. The husband said when he turned around, his wife was on the ground and a man was pulling on her purse.
Video shows a man come up behind the couple, snatch the woman’s purse, push the woman down and point a gun at her before getting into a getaway car.
The husband told deputies he attempted to grab the robber but he was pushed down and fell to the ground.
Deputies said the man stole a $300 Michael Kors purse, $400 worth of gift cards, $30 cash and a $500 iPhone.
The man fled the parking lot in a brown or gray SUV, deputies said.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-8477.
