Deputies: Murder suspect searched for, attacked man inside dumpster behind Goodwill

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man has been charged with premeditated murder after deputies said he attacked another man inside a dumpster behind an Orange County Goodwill.

Investigators said Osmar Despaigne, 43, was charged with first-degree murder after Shawn Manella, 39, was found dead outside a dumpster behind the Goodwill on Curry Ford Road.

Deputies said surveillance footage showed Despaigne searching two dumpsters behind the Goodwill looking for Manella on Aug. 16.

They said Manella was dumpster diving inside one of them when Despaigne attacked him, stabbing him numerous times.

Investigators said Manella was able to climb out of the dumpster during the attack, but was found dead on the ground outside of it.

Despaigne is being held at Orange County Jail.
