ORANGE COUNTY, FLa. — A man has died after a deputy-involved shooting Sunday evening, according to Orange County deputies.

The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. at a La-Z-Boy department store on East Colonial Drive, near Rouse Road.

Deputies said they responded to the area for reports of a traffic crash.

The man was struck by two vehicles in the area before getting up and moved to the La-Z-Boy, a witness told investigators.

Deputies said the man pulled out a knife and threatened employees inside the business.

After two Orange County deputies told the man to drop the knife, the man moved toward the deputies, who then shot the man, officials said.

He was taken to a hospital where he died, officials said.

The deputies are on paid administrative leave, which is policy during an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
