ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County Public Schools confirmed that Cypress Creek High School was placed on a brief lockdown on Friday.

School officials said the high school was placed on lockdown at around 1:31 p.m. after receiving reports of a student on campus with a weapon.
Officials said law enforcement responded and identified the student.

After an investigation, officials confirmed that no weapon was found.
The school’s principal, Walton McHale, released an audio message to parents confirming the situation and that all students and staff are safe.

Orange County deputies said the lockdown has been lifted.
