ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A local doctor says the coronavirus vaccine will absolutely not give you COVID-19.

He said the results from about 75,000 people in two vaccine trials show it’s very safe.

“It’s like a biological hurricane we are going through and we need to come out of it,” Dr. Aftab Khan said.

He said he feels it is the biggest responsibility of his career to educate the public on the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine.

“I’m not only worried about myself and my family. I have my employees. They are in a battlefield right now,” Khan said.

He said the only way to end the pandemic crippling our world is if 70% to 80% of people get the shot.

But right now, about 60% of his patients are against it.

He said that both Pfizer and Moderna’s completed trials show the vaccine is very safe with only some minor effects such as a low-grade fever, headache and soreness.

“A bit of pain can be a positive sign that good things are happening in our body and we are earning our immunity,” Khan said.
