EATONVILLE, Fla. — People around Central Florida are honoring Martin Luther King Jr. this weekend, ahead of Monday’s holiday.

Leaders and members of the community gathered in Eatonville on Saturday for the town’s MLK parade.
Orange County Sheriff John Mina, Rep. Val Demings and other local politicians also took part.

The city of Sanford is planning to hold its MLK parade on Monday while Orlando canceled its planned parade that was set for Saturday.
Orlando leaders held a community showcase to celebrate King’s legacy outside of the Dr. Phillips Center.
