ORLANDO, Fla. — A local group is collecting donations to send to people impacted by the Surfside condo collapse.
Rabbi Yosef Konikov said people in his synagogue reached out to him asking how they can help. Now, the Chabad is sending over care packages to spread some kindness to those suffering.
“We’re just trying to do the little bit we can do,” Konikov said.

Konikov, along with others in the Chabad of South Orlando, are collecting supplies to send over in the coming days, such as water, kosher bread and snacks.
Konikov said he knows it’s not much but “we know people feel helpless and we know it’s out of our control.”
