ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida’s first Brightline train has officially arrived at Orlando.
It is one of 10 train sets that will serve Brightline’s Orlando extension, which is set to open in early 2023.

The train, Bright Blue 2, arrived at Brightline’s brand new vehicle maintenance facility south of Orlando International Airport on Tuesday.
The train set traveled across 10 states and a total of 3,000 plus miles to get here from Sacramento. It was built at the Siemens rolling stock facility and is now the second of five new train sets to arrive in Florida in preparation for the opening of the Brightline station in Orlando.
“It’s phenomenal for all of us that have been working on this project for so long,” said Michael Cegelis with Brightline. “This is really what we are working for, to see these trains begin to arrive is just so exciting.”
Officials said Brightline’s Orlando extension project is currently 70% complete.

It is expected to be complete in late 2022 and slated to start carrying passengers in 2023.
