‘Best of the best’: 4 Orlando area restaurants awarded Michelin stars

ORLANDO, Fla. — Some of the best restaurants in America are in Central Florida, and now they have official proof of their high quality.

Four Orange County restaurants became the first in Florida to receive Michelin stars.

The restaurants are: Capa, Knife and Spoon, Kadence and Soseki.

The Michelin group’s ratings are known around the world as a sign of excellence.

“The Michelin guide has been around 100 years. It’s the best of the best restaurants around the world,” said Casandra Matej, president of Visit Orlando. “A 1-star rating here is the same as a 1-star rating in Italy or anywhere else across the world.”

Thirty other local restaurants also earned a “Bib Gourmand” award, which is given to excellent restaurants that are serving food at moderate prices.
