Bank of America donates 75K to Habitat for Humanity, helps Hurricane Ian recovery

ORLANDO, Fla. — One central Florida organization received assistance as they help rebuild following Hurricane Ian.

Bank of America donated $75,000 to Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County to help with the recovery efforts, the company announced Thursday.

This donation will help provide safe and affordable housing to residents, especially those affected by the impact of the storm.

“The housing crisis that our community was already facing has now been more clearly illuminated,” Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County President and CEO Catherine Steck McManus said.

The company had already pledged $40,000 to Habitat Orlando and Osceola for the Habitat Global Build initiative, but once the hurricane struck, they increased the donation.

Bank of America employees also volunteered to build homes on Thursday at Silver Pines Pointe.

Jodie Hardman, the market executive for Bank of America Central Florida, said they hope other businesses will support communities whose lives were changed by Ian.
