“Today, we are having a fundraiser for the Duran family,” said Jahvon Hudson with Sweetwater Carwash. “We just want to give back to the community.”

The tragic accident that led to Duran’s death happened on June 30 when a trailer filled with sand was being moved and fell on him.

When customer Ronda Decaul heard that 10% of every dollar spent at the car wash Thursday was being donated to Duran’s family, getting her car detailed was a no-brainer.

“We all need help. That’s what it’s all about,” Decaul said.

Those who worked with Duran said being a firefighter was his dream.
