Alleged arsonist in custody after Orlando fire severely burned 2 people, fire officials say

ORLANDO, Fla. — A man is in custody in connection with a fire that severely burned two people inside an Orlando home Saturday night.

Officials arrested 62-year-old Robert Hendrix for allegedly setting fire to the residence located in the 500 block of West Washington Street.

Two victims were transported as trauma alerts to an area hospital as a result of the fire.

Firefighters said one of the two burn victims claimed to have jumped from the second story of the home.

Hendrix faces charges of first-degree arson and attempted first-degree murder.
