ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — As the number of COVID-19 cases trend down and the number of vaccinated people continues to rise, the state is expanding options for people to get the shot.
Thousands of doses for the most vulnerable people in our community are being set aside.
AdventHealth said about 8,000 seniors and health care workers will get their second dose of the Moderna vaccine at a pop-up site near the airport before the weekend.

The site is doing about 2,000 shots per day.
“It’s so wonderful to finally have some vaccine to actually go on offense rather than playing defense,” said Dr. Scott Brady with AdventHealth. “To actually do something that can stop this thing from infecting us all.”
Spots for the shots are already full. Brady said AdventHealth is “not really clear” on when they’ll be getting more vaccines that people can sign up for.
“It’s a day-to-day thing when we find out how many vaccines are coming into the state, how many will be distributed, where will they be distributed,” he said.
Last weekend, AdventHealth vaccinated about 3,500 health care workers and about 500 people under the age of 65 who were considered “extremely vulnerable.”
