AdventHealth adding restrictions to visitation policy due to soaring COVID-19 cases

AdventHealth announced it will put more restrictions on visitors starting Monday due to soaring COVID-19 cases.

This comes after the hospital changed its status from red to black as Florida hit a COVID-19 hospitization record.

Health leaders said they aren’t expecting things to get better any time soon.

Doctors warn the surge in COVID-19 cases could get much worse if more people don’t get vaccinated.

Effective Monday, AdventHealth is tightening visitation policies.

Restrictions include moving from in-person visits to virtual visits for COVID-19 positive patients and one visitor allowed at a time for non-COVID-19 patients.

More than 10,200 people are being treated for the coronavirus in hospitals across Florida, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The previous record was set in July 2020.
