HSN officials said the issue is worse in Central Florida than anywhere in the state because of people moving here for the sense of community provided for LGBTQ individuals and the jobs in the tourism industry.

Experts said that half of people in Central Florida are one paycheck away from not being able to make ends meet, which is why life on the streets is skyrocketing.

How and when the money will be used hasn’t been decided yet. The organizations that will get the money say they will come up with ideas.

HSN will manage the grant, but the spending will need to be approved by HUD.
