2 men killed, 2 children injured in car crash in east Orange County, FHP says

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two men were killed and two children were injured late Wednesday in a car crash at Curry Ford Road and Cypress Springs Parkway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

It happened around 6:10 p.m. A 2016 Toyota SUV was heading north on Curry Ford Road while a 2021 Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling south on Curry Ford Road.

Witnesses told troopers the Toyota was speeding and lost control of the vehicle before traveling through the grass median and into the southbound lanes.

The left front of the Toyota struck the front left of the Ford F150, causing the Ford to overturn, troopers said.

The driver of the Ford F150, a 37-year-old male from Orlando, died at the scene. The driver of the Toyota, a 26-year-old man, was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

Passengers in the Ford — a 17-year-old female and a 5-year-old male who are both from Orlando — were transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Names have not been released.
