ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies are working to get kits out into the community to help them find missing children and senior citizens.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office received 1,500 scent collection kits on Thursday as part of a partnership between the department, Scent Evidence K9 and the Senior Resources Alliance.

Deputies said the kits can help K-9 deputies in the search for a missing person. They said the kits will be given to the community for elderly or children who may wander away from their homes.
Officials with Scent Evidence K9 say their kits pre-collect and preserve a person’s unique scent before they ever go missing. They said that gives responding K-9 units a head start with an uncontaminated scent article.
