Person killed after wrong-way driver hits 3 vehicles, troopers say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An investigation is underway in East Orange County following a deadly crash involving a wrong-way driver, troopers said.

The crash happened near the intersection of Colonial Drive and Lansing Street around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Dodge Challenger was traveling the wrong way in the eastbound lane of Colonial Drive.

The Challenger hit a Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling eastbound on Colonial Drive, then crashed head-on with another Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a Mazda that was also traveling eastbound.

The driver of the second motorcycle hit was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the first motorcycle struck t was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, and the driver of the Mazda was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Challenger remained at the scene, troopers said.

Parts of Colonial Drive were shut down for hours Sunday morning while troopers investigated the crash.
