Orange County surpasses 10,000 total COVID-19 cases as Florida reports statewide increase of 5,200 cases, 28 deaths

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orange County surpassed 10,000 reported COVID-19 cases on Monday as Florida health officials reported 5,200 new cases statewide as well as 28 deaths.

A week ago, on June 22, Orange County had only 5,157 cases of the virus.

Monday’s numbers also brought Volusia County to a new milestone of 2,000 cases. Volusia also saw Central Florida’s only two new reported deaths in the past 24 hours.

Florida now reports a total of 146,341 cases of the virus and 3,447 deaths. By comparison, last Monday the state first reached the 100,000-case mark.
