ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A new class of first responders has joined the Orange County Fire Rescue Department on what is known as the luckiest day of the year.

29 certified men and women graduated in Friday’s ceremony at Full Sail University.
The 100th class embarked on their next steps as firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians and paramedics on St. Patrick’s Day.

The group, Recruit Class 100, took their Oaths of Office after completing a ten-week orientation course.
Orange County Administrator Byron Brooks and Orange County Fire Chief James Fitzgerald spoke at the beginning of the ceremony.
The ceremony also celebrated promoted personnel, including dispatchers and fire inspectors.
