Orange County elementary school student praised after saving choking classmate

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An Orange County elementary school student is being called a hero.

The boy is credited with saving his classmate’s life.

Jake King is a fourth grader at Rosemont Elementary School.

District leaders said a classmate started choking on a piece of candy, and their teacher wasn’t successful with the Heimlich maneuver.

While she called 911, Jake gave it a try and got the candy out.
