ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A woman was killed and her pregnant daughter was hospitalized after a shooting Monday morning, before the gunman shot and killed himself, Ocoee police said.

The two women were shot at about 7:30 a.m. at a home on Grand Poplar Street in Ocoee in a neighborhood near the intersection of Clarke and Clarcona Ocoee roads.

Police said the shooting stemmed from an argument between the surviving victim and her boyfriend, 23-year-old Pierre Bernard.

Family told Channel 9 the woman who died is 52-year-old Marie Alexandre. Her daughter, Marie Pierre, who is three months pregnant, was grazed by a bullet, relatives said. She was released from a hospital Monday evening.

"My wife was a flower to me, a beautiful woman," said Weikel Alexandre, the husband of the woman who died. "I cannot even begin to tell you how I'm feeling right now. She's all I have."

When Polk County sheriff's deputies went to Bernard's Haines City home after the shooting, Bernard shot and killed himself, police on the scene in Ocoee told Channel 9's Jeff Deal.

Mike Theard, the victim's son, described his mother as a wonderful woman. He said he was supposed to spend the day with her.

"It was like a dream. It's not true," he said. "It's really painful."

Alexandre's husband also said his 15-year-old daughter was in the home at the time but was not hurt.

Investigators have not released any other information.
