The new station will extend SunRail service by adding 12.2 miles from the DeBary Station up to DeLand. SunRail currently has 16 stations from DeBary to Poinciana along a 49-mile corridor.

Officials said the DeLand Station will be the 17th, fulfilling the original vision for 17 stations in the SunRail Commuter Rail System across Central Florida.
